A prosperous Finland with global responsibility for sustainability and the carrying capacity of nature
Sustainable development will be discussed on Wednesday 31 May at Finlandia Hall. A new national monitoring system of sustainable development will be published at the meeting of stakeholders and various parties will hold presentations about the current situation and future prospects of sustainable development in Finland.
The event is organised by the Secretariat of the Finnish National Commission on Sustainable Development.
The European Sustainable Development Network met in Helsinki on Thursday and Friday 20–21 April. Experts from 18 countries came to the meeting to exchange views on the national implementation of the global Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
In his opening address the Minister of Agriculture and the Environment Kimmo Tiilikainen told about is personal commitment to halve the amount of fossil fuels he uses this year. He is committed to filling up his car with 100% renewable biodiesel at least every second time.
