Concrete measures of the Commission's recent plan to accelerate the sustainability transition

The national Commission on Sustainable Development has prepared an action plan for the national strategy for sustainable development for 2025-2027, adopted in 2022. The plan has been prepared in twelve present and Teams workshops held in 2024. The preparation of the plan, which started from the members of the committee, was active. The purpose of the action plan is to concretise and accelerate the work on sustainable development and to inspire more and more people to participate. The plan consists of ten measures, the implementation of which relies heavily on the expertise and activity of the committee members and their networks. The Secretariat supports the work with a varying approach and monitors the implementation of the plan.
Action 1: promoting the introduction of sustainable development indicators and developing their use
Action 2: strengthening the knowledge base on the negative externalities of Finland's sustainable development work
Action 3: identify legislation and other steering instruments that strengthen the sustainability transition at different levels and sectors and identify potential conflicts in steering
Action 4: examine CSR/sustainability reporting and its potential in supporting organisations' sustainability work and budgeting
Action 5: organising events and dialogues to strengthen the inclusion of sustainable development
Action 6: stimulating discussion on inclusion, values and inclusion practices in the work of the national Commission on Sustainable Development
Action 7: promoting the sustainability transition at morning coffees on different themes
Action 8: knowledge and skills in the cultural sector to support sustainable development
